It's not just twelve year olds that put sites like that together. When you are only concerned about the general public (ie users with no physical handicaps like blindness who aren't concerned with proper html) using a program such as frontpage or, heaven forbid, Word.

They can whip out a webpage with very little effort. And on the outside it looks semi-decent.

I checked out her source code. I noticed the site is put together with Frontpage. Lots of "Microsoft Theme" and "Microsoft Border" in there. And Javascript.

The site could use some validation. She doesn't even declare a doctype.

I don't know, I guess a twelve year old could throw together a website like that. Hmm.

After the speech, Ilana's parents, Jonathan and Heidi Wexler, accepted congratulations from dozens of delegates as they dabbed tears from their eyes.

I try to remember what I was like at 12. While I considered myself to be mature, I don't think I was that mature. How much of this is being done by this little girl, and how much is being done by her parents.

It isn't all bad though. Even if her parents are doing most of the pushing, she will still benefit from it.
